Volunteer Spotlight: Corporate Volunteers Bring Meaningful Partnerships 

At Homeless Solutions, our volunteers bring their unique skills and deep commitment to serving our guests and caring for our properties, making a profound difference in our organization. This is especially true for our corporate volunteer groups, which continue to grow as companies seek meaningful ways to build stronger teams while giving back. These partnerships create powerful opportunities for colleagues to work together toward a shared purpose, developing deeper connections with each other, HSI and the community at large. We're grateful for these partnerships, as they bring significant benefits to our programs, including expertise in fields that can help our guests grow and much needed helping hands for larger campus projects. It’s also, as one volunteer expressed, a “tremendous and humbling experience” to serve with their co-workers.

But most importantly, the engagement with our corporate volunteer partners can turn into significant, sustained relationships. Volunteer Manager Tamala Reynolds feels the impact of this first-hand: “Something I often see from corporate volunteerism is their willingness to keep returning and help again, which is a win-win for both parties.”

Corporate volunteers contribute in diverse ways—from painting and beautifying our spaces to preparing meals in our kitchen. They also organize collections for move-in bins and holiday gifts that help ease financial burdens on individuals and families in our programs. Companies like AIG and Marsh bring joy through special events like "Yard Parties" at our Mt. Kemble Home, offering activities and companionship to our senior women residents. Some partnerships even reach beyond traditional service activities with workshops and screenings to help our program participants as they navigate their way back to housing stability and enhance their quality of life.

The connections that blossom from corporate volunteerism can turn into lifelong commitment to our mission. Volunteering can turn into sponsorship and participation at our events, joining our Young Professionals Advisory Council or Corporate Advisory Council and even becoming a Board Trustee. We’re so appreciative of our corporate volunteers for joining our Homeless Solutions community, as we work together to provide comfort, companionship and knowledge to our guests on their journey to stability.
