Remembering Longtime Volunteer and Friend Virginia "Ginny" Cook
Our Homeless Solutions family celebrates the life of longtime friend and volunteer Virginia “Ginny” Cook, who passed away on December 16, 2025 at the age of 92.
We will fondly remember Ginny for volunteering with HSI for over 40 years, beginning her service when its doors opened in 1983. Ginny cooked and served meals with fellow members of the Montville Reformed Church, their signature meal being so beloved the group was nicknamed the “Meatloaf Gang.”
Virginia was born in Paterson in July 1933. Ginny was dedicated to the Montville Reformed Church – she was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Women's Guild, the Consistory, and the Cemetery Committee. She also worked the farm, loved word puzzles, and crocheted afghans when she had time. Along with volunteering with Homeless Solutions, she also gave her time to the Montville Historical Society.
Ginny's longtime dedication to serving Homeless Solutions' guests through home-cooked meals has been a true gift, and we are deeply grateful.
