Investing for the Future
To support what we have built together, HSI raises money every year to help individuals and families rebuild their lives. However, this alone will not sustain our important work in the years to come. The future is hard to predict but we know additional resources will be needed to solidify our strength as a leader in the field and fuel our mission. We cannot risk the day when Homeless Solutions will come up short, due to unexpected economic downturns, disasters or a shift in government funding, and have to choose who we can help and who we must turn away.
The HSI Board of Trustees and Leadership Team allocated $1,000,000 from long-term operating reserves to establish an HSI Quasi Endowment in July 2025 to move us one step closer to sustaining our future. This significant investment of designated resources, coupled with the creation of subsequent policies for accepting named and restricted true endowments, will provide a mission critical roadmap to inspire others to join us in investing today and tomorrow.
For individuals who have notified us about their intention to include HSI in their estate plans, they now have the opportunity to explore endowment option designations for their legacy gift. In addition, we are hopeful that others will join them in considering endowing mission critical programs that will sustain our future and give hope to our neighbors in need for years to come.
