Enhance your impact at Homeless Solutions
Are you already making annual gifts but seeking to enhance your impact at Homeless Solutions? Have you ever considered combining a current gift with a planned gift to achieve your philanthropic goals? A blended gift can allow you to see the impact of giving today while continuing to support Homeless Solution’s mission well into the future.
What is a blended gift?
A blended git occurs when you combine two or more gift types to increase your philanthropic impact, maximize your personal tax benefits, preserve wealth for you and your family and further HSI’s mission. By blending multiple gift types, you can make an impact far greater than you ever imagined.

Joe’s Story
Joe has been volunteering to cook and serve dinner at the Shelter for years and has seen first-hand the importance of healthy meals to help individuals and families on their journey to sustainable housing and independence. Joe wanted to make a bold impact by giving $200,000 to support this mission critical component of care. After some consideration, Joe decided to give $100,000 in outright cash and included a provision in his will directing an additional $100,000 to HSI at his death. Since the outright gift of $100,000 meets the required minimum for a named restricted endowment fund, Joe is able to create the “Joe Smith Endowed Fund” to provide healthy meals to the guests in our care for years to come. The impact of this gift will grow significantly when the estate gift is realized.
Jane’s Story
A long-time employee of Homeless Solutions, Jane knows the impact of staff on those we serve. They are the magic part of every story and she wanted to make a gift to honor them and her life’s work at Homeless Solutions. Using an IRA Charitable Rollover option over the next three years, Jane transferred a total of $50,000, the amount required to create a named unrestricted endowment fund at HSI, called the Jane Ross Fund for Staff Excellence. Upon her death, she included Homeless Solutions as the sole beneficiary of the IRA making this gift even more impactful for supporting our greatest resource – our staff - in the years to come.
