Items Needed

Throughout the year, there are certain supplies we are always in need of at the shelter and at our transitional housing facility, and we greatly appreciate all donations.

MOST NEEDED ITEMS:

Pantry:

  • 5 or 7 oz. Dixie cups
  • 8 oz. foam coffee cups
  • Antibacterial hand soap
  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Laundry detergent
  • Vinyl gloves for cooking
  • Heavy duty dinner size paper plates
  • Dessert size paper plates
  • Tea bags
  • Iced Tea bags
  • Salad dressing packets
  • Sugar
  • Honey
  • Powdered creamer
  • Breakfast bars
Other:
  • Men’s flip flops
  • Old towels (used for rags)
  • Pillows
  • Bath towels (new or used, in good condition)
  • Baby wipes
Clothing for a Cause

Want to donate clothing or organize a drive?

100% of the proceeds from item donations go towards the Shelter Programs and Services at HSI.  Something as simple as clothing and item donations can help to rebuild the lives of our neighbors in need.

In fact, you help more than the shelter guests at HSI! We work with a clothing partner that recycles the items and distributes them globally and locally to those in need, and we receive revenue for the items donated.

ACCEPTED ITEMS:

Clothing, Shoes, Handbags, Belts, Small Toys

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:

Food items, Furniture, Strollers, Car Seats, Electronics, Appliances, CD's/DVD's, Tires

NOTE: All items donated must be in good, usable condition. These items will NOT BE SHREDDED.

Thank you to everyone who has donated through our clothing bin on Jean Street. Unfortunately it was unexpectedly removed, but stay tuned for updates!

And if you're attending Women's Day, bring your bags - we'll once again be holding a clothing drive there!

Vehicles

If you’re thinking this year would be a perfect time to buy your dream car, then consider donating your old vehicle to Homeless Solutions. Don’t settle for a low trade-in, instead support the cause you love. Help us provide shelter, services, and supportive housing to those in need.

If you have a vehicle you would like to donate, we have a simple process, and your donation will be tax deductible.
